The NIO, New Intraosseous Device is a simple, automatic intraosseous (IO) device. It is ready to use for safe, quick, and easy vascular access and enables paramedics and other medical professionals to inject fluids and medication directly into the bone's marrow in a quick and easy procedure.
The NIO is used in emergency situations, when vascular access is needed for fluid and drug administration. It is small, lightweight, and easy to use, even in the most demanding situations.
These ‘intraosseus (IO) infusions' are crucial when patients' veins are not available for the administering of vital drugs. Unlike existing appliances, the NIO is incredibly simple to use and because there is no preparation time, it can be operated in less than 60 seconds. These saved moments are often the difference between life and death.
Intraosseous infusions are used for a variety of purposes, including injecting victims of heart attacks and those who suffer from diabetes. They can be used for anyone who has poor vascular access, including those with renal problems, burns victims, IV drug users, obese patients, the very young and old, and people suffering from numerous other complaints.
The NIO is designed for easy insertion in all clinical settings into the tibia or humerus in adults, and into the tibia in paediatric patients.
